This goes hand in hand with knowing all the teachers names. Basically, students are instructed on how to great a new comer, give a tour of the facility and then bringing the visitor to the classroom. This give children an opportunity to converse intelligently with adults, create a feeling of welcome and sharing of knowledge about their environment and gives them a sense of pride. Entering an unknown environment can be intimidating and scary, and being welcomed gives the visitor a sense of comfort too.
